Sixteen teams slugs it out for the European championship from today.It kicks off 6pm local time. The opening game sees Poland tournament host against the 2004 champions Greece,in warsaw's International stadium.
They have been fears of racism marring the event,the dutch team experienced ''monkey chants'' during training with the dutch captain saying if the team faces any racist chants during a match they will definitely speak to the referee.
Italian striker Mario Balotelli has said that he would leave the field if he experiences any racist chants.
Spain world and European champions are definitely tournament favorites along with the Netherlands and Germany.
Spain would be aiming to win their third major trophy in a row.
